Mondokio means "world eye" in Italian. And this is exactly what we’ve developed—a world eye for reading international news.

The problem we’re addressing is that you can't understand an international news story through only one, culturally specific news source. Doing so inevitably misrepresents the reality of that story.

Our belief is that every news source presents stories in a manner shaped by its location, its leadership, its audience, its language, and how it’s financed. Mondokio pulls together and presents, on one site, the most influential coverage on topics of global significance. In doing so, we reveal those perspectives which were previously hidden and help you to develop your own "world eye."

We also believe Arts and Culture have an integral role to play in the presentation of news. As you navigate through our site, you'll notice videos that correspond to the location of the news sources. These will provide you with insight into cultures which may be different from your own.
